Former Premier League player Carlton Palmer believes that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is under pressure.

After a tough campaign last term which saw Tottenham finish seventh and enter the UEFA Europa Conference League, the club appointed Nuno Espirito Santo as their new manager, but after just four months at the helm, Spurs parted ways with him.

Tottenham have now turned to Antonio Conte who has had previous success in the Premier League, as he lifted the title with Chelsea in the 2016/2017 season and also won the FA Cup the following campaign.

Palmer believes that Levy is under pressure, telling This is Futbol: “It’s not been good. Levy is under pressure. He brought Mourinho in, he brought Gareth Bale in, it’s not worked out. He’s under pressure so he’s decided I’m not going to let Kane go.”

Harry Kane has been brilliant for Spurs as he has scored an incredible 228 goals for the club and picked up the Premier League Golden Boot last season as he scored 23 goals. It was the third time he has collected the award after previously winning it in 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 also.

With a new Head Coach at the helm in Conte and with his impressive CV, you would imagine that there will be a lot of hope around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, that he can work his magic and help deliver some silverware for the club.
