A number of Newcastle United fans have been left upset after hearing that Andy Madley will referee their upcoming Premier League game.

This week, Eddie Howe will seek his first win as Magpies boss – and the club’s first of the season – as he takes charge of the team in front of the home crowd at St. James’ Park.

Norwich City are the team that will pay a visit for the clash down at the bottom of the table and it will all be officiated by Madley.

The club’s official website relayed the information, adding that official Lee Mason would also be the man in charge of VAR.

When the news was shared online by the Newcastle Twitter page it drew a rather negative response from some unhappy supporters.

Here’s what these Magpies fans said…

“Worse than his brother if that was possible…”

“One rubbish Ref after another we keep getting.”
“Doesn’t really matter who it is – its another anti-Newcastle official. No doubt nobody on VAR again either.”
“Another abysmal ref. Let’s see how obvious the anti-NUFC bias is this evening.”
“Shocking ref but that might actually help us tonight.”
“Terrible referee. We aint got a hope with him in charge.”

It’s clear to see just how unhappy these supporters are with the fact that Madley has been chosen to referee their match. This is not the first time this official has caused a stir when taking charge of a Newcastle match, either.
