Newcastle United fans made their feelings clear to Mehrdad Ghodoussi about something he and the Newcastle owners have to do.
During his time as caretaker manager, Graeme Jones didn’t inspire the fans with his team selection or performances, with many hoping he’d leave when Eddie Howe was appointed. He remained at the club despite Howe coming in, and the fans aren’t happy.
Hijacking Ghodoussi’s inspirational tweet before the Brentford game, the Newcastle fans made their feelings about Jones clear after the news broke Howe will not be present after a positive Covid test.

It’s evident that Jones leaving the club would make the majority of supporters happy, unfortunately for them I don’t see it happening.
Howe needs a mix of stability and fresh ideas at the club. Yes a major overhaul is required, but people like Jones who are familiar with the squad will be a huge asset to Howe as he makes his own judgements.
Yes the fans were disappointed with the team selection from Jones, but that’s no cause to worry as Howe will have last say. He’ll just use Jones for what he needs him for, this is Howe’s team now, and he’ll be stamping his authority on it already.
