The Athletic journalist Phil Hay has delivered the latest injury update ahead of Leeds United’s clash against Antonio Conte’s Spurs side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening.

Seeking a victory that could see them rise to 13th in the league, Marcelo Bielsa’s side drew 1-1 against Leicester City at Elland Road in their most recent match prior to the recent international break, but will now be looking to claim an invaluable three points against the Lilywhites as they seek to really kickstart their campaign.

However, writing in his matchday discussion for The Athletic this morning, Phil Hay revealed that Patrick Bamford and Luke Ayling won’t feature today, while also adding that Junior Firpo and Jamie Shackleton face further time on the sidelines due to injury too as they aim to upset the odds and secure a vital three points against Conte’s side.

Do you think Leeds need to strengthen in January?

Yes

No

“Bamford and Ayling won’t play today, and it sounds like Firpo and Shackleton need a little longer too. Assuming there are no late issues, I’d be expecting an unchanged line-up today with Forshaw starting again and Struijk at left-back.”

What did these Leeds fans make of Phil Hay’s injury update?

“Million dollar question Phil – if you could let us know – Raphihna rumoured to be Ill and missing the game and Rodrigo injured – any truth in this?”

@ronaallleeds

“It’s probably true. We usually lose a few on the morning of the game. Happens so often it drives me nuts”

“No Rapha and Rodrigo Phil, just pull the plug”
“I hear Raphinia is ill so out of today’s game. Say it isn’t so”
“Phil- I heard Rodrigo and Raphinha is injured before todays game? What do you know about this?”
“Any news on Raphinha and Rodrigo? We’ve heard some scary things”
Leeds recorded a 3-1 win over Spurs when the two teams last locked horns back in May, but the Whites have lost on each of their last four Premier League trips to Tottenham and have not beaten the capital giants away from home in England’s top flight since February 2001.

This was a low point in Leeds United's history, but how many points did they get in the 2003/04 campaign?
