Lots of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from the Tyneside club following the latest clash for their U23 squad against Nottingham Forest

It was a game to remember for Elliot Anderson, who scored all three of the Toon’s goals in their 3-1 victory over Andy Reid’s Forest side in the Premier League 2.

Should Anderson feature under Howe?

Anderson has made a bright start to the season for the U23s in the Premier League 2 division, with five goals in the six appearances made in the youth league (via Transfermarkt).

Newcastle fans flooded to the tweet from the club announcing Anderson’s hat-trick goal at The Impact Arena as many shared their desire to see the 19-year-old promoted to Eddie Howe’s first-team.

What did these Newcastle fans have to say?

“One of Eddie to nurture!”

“First team inbound”
“He’s a generational superstar. Guarantee Eddie breaks him into the first team next season.”
“Nah we actually have a wonder kid on our hands”
“get him playing in first team asap”
“Clear of Miggy”

Anderson has featured in the senior squad on two occasions this season but has not made it off the bench thus far, having played for a combined 42 minutes across two appearances in the first team in his career (via Transfermarkt).

It seems these fans are desperate to see more of Anderson in the first team – and it seems from the start he has made in the Premier League 2 that he could well be a worthwhile addition.
