A lot of Leeds United fans have flooded to Twitter to share their thoughts on the latest transfer claim to emerge regarding the Yorkshire side.

According to ESPN, both Leeds and Arsenal are both eyeing up Ajax right-back Noussair Mazraoui with the Moroccan’s contract running into its final year.

Would Mazraoui be an upgrade on Ayling?

With the January transfer window approaching and the 24-year-old’s contract with the Eredivisie side coming to an end, the two Premier League sides would be able to negotiate a pre-contract deal.

Leeds fans flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on ESPN’s reported transfer claim linking the Whites to the £16.2m-rated defender.

What did these Leeds fans have to say?

“He ripped Real Madrid to bits in the Champions league game a few years ago! Would be an unreal signing.”

“Surely not? He’s a very good right back and obviously ajax first choice. Be some coup that. Thought the club would want to promote dramah for Ayling replacement”
“Very similar to Bill can play a number of positions RB, RWB, CB, & CM. If Leeds pulled this off I think he would be Bill’s natural replacement which would give Dremah the chance to go out on loan next season.”
“Some signing looks class for Ajax”
“We don’t like strength in depth so can’t be right”
“It’s probably not true but this is exactly the sort of signing we should be making next summer. 3 or 4 really top level additions, and replacing Raphinha’s ability with his seemingly inevitable departure. Don’t have to break the bank either, clever signings like this are perfect”

Mazraoui has made an impressive start to the 2021/22 campaign for Erik ten Hag’s side with four goals and two assists in the 11 appearances he has made in the Eredivisie (via Transfermarkt).

And it is of little surprise that these fans are excited by the rumour given the tricky starts to the season both Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas have had for the Whites.
