Many Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to slam Junior Firpo’s display against Brighton in the Premier League.

Ahead of the game, Marcelo Bielsa’s side were seeking a victory that would see them rise to 14th in the league, a result that could’ve really kickstarted their campaign.

However, they were unable to achieve this, instead drawing 0-0 against Graham Potter’s side, and were arguably fortunate to secure a point, with Seagulls striker Neal Maupay in particular culpable of missing several glaring chances.

One player who was poor against the Seagulls was Whites full-back Junior Firpo, brought back into the starting XI in place of Pascal Struijk.

Firpo, who has endured frustration with both coronavirus and injury since signing for Leeds from Barcelona in the summer, was run ragged on Saturday evening at the Amex by Brighton full-back Tariq Lampety, tormenting the 25-year-old with his pace, trickery and incredibly direct style of play before being hauled off at by Bielsa at half-time.

Bielsa’s side will be looking to secure a vital win when they host Patrick Viera’s Crystal Palace side on Tuesday evening at Elland Road in their next match in the Premier League.

If they are able to secure a much desired victory against the East London outfit, this could provide as a real platform for Bielsa’s side to build upon as they seek to spark their season into life and surge up the league table.
