Many Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance of Adam Forshaw in their Carabao Cup clash against Arsenal on Tuesday night.

The 30-year-old was making his sixth appearance of the 2021/22 campaign across all competitons with the majority of them coming in the Carabao Cup (via Transfermarkt).

Having joined the Whites back in 2018 from Middlesbrough, the midfielder has struggled with long-term injuries with a hip issue keeping him out for well over one year.

However, the 5ft 7″ midfielder proved fit enough to start on Tuesday night at the Emirates Stadium for Marcelo Bielsa, but these Leeds fans were left far from impressed with his display.

What did these fans have to say?

“Forshaw just runs about like a headless chicken, I’m all for getting behind our players but the guys past it”

“Forshaw looks knackered”
“Forshaw is all over the gaff is this midfield he has no idea of his role, his positioning is shocking so far”
“Forshaw must do absolute bits on the training ground to still be rated by Bielsa”
“Makes me sad to say Forshaw just doesn’t have it”
“James and forshaw not fit to wear the shirt”
“Forshaw is too slow.. I love him but he isn’t a Premier League standard player”

As he looks to work his way back into Bielsa’s plans on a regular basis, Forshaw has also played a number of games for the Leeds U23s in the Premier League 2 this season but he is yet to register a goal or an assist across all levels (via Transfermakrt).

Although there also seems to be a degree of sympathy for the injury-riddled midfielder, it is apparent to see from these replies that Forshaw left the Leeds fans far from pleased with his display in north London.
