Football reporter Joe Donnohue has claimed that Leeds United man Stuart Dallas has looked ‘broken in recent weeks’.

Leeds’ poor start to the season has been widely spoken about, with the club claiming just one win from their first nine Premier League games.

Perhaps emblematic of that has been Dallas’ own form which has also drawn some scrutiny in the media. However, a dramatic last-minute equaliser against Wolves gave fans something to cheer about over the weekend.

Will Stuart Dallas get back to his best this season for Leeds?

And, while speaking on a Leeds United Live video, Donnohue asserted that the ‘dressing room leader’ was back to his best in the game, having looked to be off the pace in recent times.

He explained (18:17): “He [Dallas] looked a little bit broken in recent weeks. Well, sort of like his resolve was maybe wavering.

“Yeah, a little bit head down when he’s sort of been a dressing room leader.

“But today I think we kind of saw the Stuart Dallas that we’ve seen over the past two and a half, three years. Which is encouraging because the team needed that.”

TIF thoughts on Stuart Dallas and Leeds United…

It will likely please fans to see one of their key players offering up the sort of performance they’d grown used to over the past few seasons.

Indeed, during Leeds’ last campaign, he was one of Marcelo Bielsa’s most relied upon men, playing in all 38 games and registering eight goals.

This was a low point in Leeds United's history, but how many points did they get in the 2003/04 campaign?

In general, most of the team’s players have struggled to be at their best so far – which is reflected in their poor form – but Dallas also withdrew from the Northern Ireland international squad in September due to personal reasons.

With that in mind, it’s great to hear Dallas is earning praise once more back at his club.
