Many Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to react to a pre-match stat ahead of their Premier League game against Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side started off the campaign with three successive 1-o victories, results that initially saw them leap to the table of the table.

Subsequently, it went rapidly downhill for the Lilywhites, losing their next three back-to-back, including conceding three goals in each game as well as losing the north London derby against Arsenal. However, in their final game prior to the international break, Santo’s side managed to return to winning ways in a narrow 2-1 win against Aston Villa.

Ahead of today’s clash against Villa, the BBC (via The Spurs Web) revealed that Spurs are averaging a woeful 10.4 shots per game under Nuno in the Premier League and have a conversion rate of 8.2%. By comparison, they averaged 15.7 shots under Mauricio Pochettino (11.8% conversion), and 11.2 under Jose Mourinho (15% conversion) in the competition – quite the shocking decline.

And, after hearing about that, some Spurs fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts.

What did Spurs fans have to say about it?

“Going Nunowhere with this fraud”

@lordbroxbourne

“We haven’t played a single good team except city and Chelsea”

@shalaby_bido

I just want to say, that it’s not about the players first of all ….. We have got top top quality players so much of the fans may whine less about transfers, second thing is….. Passion

@THFCSarang

“He has playmakers and a good midfielders but doesn’t like a midfield lol”

@AMoneyyy18

“Nuno is literally a downgrade just a btec Mourinho”

“Poch was so clear man”
“Kane effect”
“But Jose was the bad guy”

With these damaging stats, it’s no surprise that some fans seem to think that Spurs are going on a downward protectory under the Portuguese, and is merely a downgrade on previous manager Jose Mourinho.
