Ahead of the January transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Torino star and Italy international forward Andrea Belotti as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to strengthen his squad

Tuttosport (via Hotspur Related) have confirmed the Lilywhites and north London rivals Arsenal’s interest in the Torino captain Andrea Belotti, but Serie A giants Inter and Milan are also interested in the Italian superstar. Belotti sees his contract expire at the end of the season, with his stay at the club seeming increasingly unlikely.

The links linking the north London club to the Italian star has subsequently seen Spurs fans take to Twitter.

What did Spurs make of latest transfer update?

“No chance, we won’t have the lure of European football to offer….need to switch our policy & chase future stars. Damsgaard for one”

@LeeRHDavey

“Why not in January as Kane ain’t cutting the mustard”

@IvesJamz

“Don’t rate him massively but for a free it’s a no brainer”

@lxstlosty

“Levy been waiting 4 years to get Belotti on a free. My chairman”

@N17Tottenham96

“I think this is Paratici talking to his contacts back home cashing in favours for some smokescreen.”

@ManciniPsychol

“Not as a Kane replacement but a backup to Vlahovic hopefully.”

Belotti was offered a contract extension in the summer, with club president Urbano Cairo stating it is ‘very big for our financial capabilities’.

However the striker appears to have turned down the proposal as he sets his sights on a move away in 2022, but boss Ivan Juric has declared that he will not be sold in the New Year, leaving Belotti to walk away for nothing next summer.

Given the uncertainty surrounding the future of talisman Harry Kane, a move for the 27 year-old could represents an astute signing from Daniel Levy, especially given the forward will be available on a Bosman next year.
