Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to stats that have emerged surrounding Lucas Moura and his efforts this season.
Moura hasn’t had a lot of success in front of goal this term, failing to find the back of the net in any of the nine games that he has played. But that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been handy to Spurs in other ways.
Using stats from WhoScored, Spurs-based Twitter account @thespursweb revealed that the Brazilian, who has won 25 of his 36 aerial duels this season (69.4%), has won more headers than the likes of Virgil van Dijk (65%), Ruben Dias (60.9%) and Raphael Varane (66.7%).
It was a stat that seemed to leave a number of Spurs fans impressed when they saw it online:
“He is an absolute joke in the air.”

It’s certainly not something you’d associate with Moura, especially as he has only scored eight goals with his head in his career (as per Transfermarkt), but maybe he could use these skills to be more effective in the opposition box moving forward.
