In addition to the Argentine pair, it has been reported by Charlie Eccleshare that Spurs are also expecting to be without Emerson Royal and Davinson Sanchez for the trip to Tyneside.

Spurs fans flocked to Twitter after the claims emerged on Thursday to share their frustration as the club seems set to be without their South American players once again.

What did these fans have to say?

@spursofficialare a shambles”

“Here we go again.. Why was there no agreement before all four players left for international duty? It’ll be the same again for the November break aswell..”
“We will play them right after the announcement of the takeover. Vintage Spurs this”
“This is getting silly now”
“Absolutely ridiculous, international breaks are killing our season”
“This is an absolute joke, again!”
“Another loss then. What a joke international football has become.”

Romero signed for the Lilywhites this summer but has only featured three times in the Premier League so far, with injury and quarantine issues setting him back (via Transfermarkt).

Having already been stung last month through the international break, it is clear there is a fear among these fans of the same happening this time around, too.
