Newcastle United will be looking to cause an upset and claim their first win of the season as they get ready to host European champions Chelsea at St James’ Park on Saturday. The game, that kicks-off at 3pm, marks the second home fixture since the £305m Saudi-led takeover was completed earlier this month following the 3-2 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.

Graeme Jones is set to take charge once again after he was appointed on an interim basis following Steve Bruce’s departure.

Although the Magpies remain 19th in the Premier League, they did pick up a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace t Selhurst Park last time out to put them on four points from nine matches.

Ahead of this afternoon’s encounter, the Magpies have been presented a major boost after Mateo Kovacic, Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku were all ruled out of for Thomas Tuchel’s side against Newcastle at St.James Park this afternoon through injury.
