A whole host of Newcastle United fans are fuming on Twitter following links to Marvelous Nakamba.

Since they were taken over by PCP Capital Partners, Newcastle fans have seen their club being linked with some top names within football including Luis Diaz, Jesse Lingard and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but while they are still lingering inside the bottom three it will be difficult to attract players of that calibre.

Who would you rather as Newcastle manager?

Fonseca!

Fonseca!

Ten Hag!

Ten Hag!

Someone who would be a lot more realistic is James Tarkowski, who is also set to be out of contract in the summer and is Premier League proven. However, a name that hasn’t gone down well with many on Tyneside is Aston Villa’s Nakamba who will reportedly set them back £15 million.

A lot of Newcastle fans on Twitter are very angry with links to Nakamba.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

‘Absolutely stinks we can literally get a better midfielder from Villa.”

@Jack_Rogers97

‘Eh is Ashley back”

@JHovell9

“Sorry I thought I was having a flashback to Ashley’s ownership seeing us linked to players not good enough to get into mid table Premier league sides…”

@willazsmith

‘Absolutely not, struggles to get into their team to start off with”

@Stephen79877300

“I don’t think this would be a marvelous signing for us. More like disastrous.”

@unsynq

“Where’s the ambition?”

@Rob_Hook88

“Nonsense”

@dagvidjunior

Given how wealthy Newcastle’s new owners are, it is understandable why these fans are against the idea and are slightly underwhelmed by links to a Villa midfielder who has only started one league game all season.

The Magpies already have players such as Isaac Hayden, Sean Longstaff and Jeff Hendrick who can operate in a similar role to Nakamba so this link makes little sense, especially the price tag being quoted as he’s only started 29 league matches since joining Villa back in 2019 for £10.8 million.
