Former Premier League player Dean Windass believes that Everton could make £39m if they were to sell Demarai Gray, but doesn’t see the club selling him now.

The former Bayer Leverkusen winger joined Everton this summer with BBC Sport reporting that the fee to bring him to Goodison Park was just £1.7m.

The 25-year-old has been in brilliant form so far for the Toffees, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the Premier League.

After a great start to life at Goodison Park, Windass believes the club could make £39m from him in the future, telling This is Futbol: “They’re going to make £39m if they sell him.

“They’re not going to sell him now because Rafa, he will want to finish in the top-half of the table, which I’m sure they will do.”

During the summer transfer window, Gray was the only signing which Everton paid a fee for with Sky Sports reporting that Andros Townsend, Asmir Begovic, Andy Lonergan and Salomon Rondon all joined the club on free transfers.

The Toffees have made a decent start to the season, picking up 14 points from their opening eight Premier League matches, sitting just one point outside of the top four.
