Former Premier League player Dean Windass believes that Arsenal could give Jack Wilshere a pay-as-you-play deal.

Sky Sports reported earlier this month that Wilshere was training with his former club and prior to training with the Gunners, he had been training with Como out in Italy.

During his time with Arsenal, Wilshere featured in 198 games, scoring 14 goals and registering 30 assists, and helped the club to win two FA Cups and the Community Shield during his spell at the Emirates Stadium.

Windass believes that Arsenal could give Wilshere a pay-as-you-play deal, telling This is Futbol: “You could give him a pay-as-you-play like Andy Carroll did at Newcastle.”

After leaving Arsenal, Wilshere signed with West Ham United making 19 appearances for the Hammers first team, before returning to AFC Bournemouth in the 2020/2021 campaign, having had a previous loan spell with the Cherries during the 2016/2017 season.

Wilshere has been without a club since departing Bournemouth and told Mirror Football that: “At the minute I am just focusing on trying to get myself as fit and ready as I can mentally for something in January.”

During his career, Wilshere has featured in a number of positions including central midfield, attacking and defensive midfield, right and left midfield and also as a second striker showing that he has versatility to his game.
