Many Celtic fans have reacted excitedly after it was revealed that an injury to Giorgos Giakoumakis isn’t as bad as first feared.
The Bhoys signed the Greek striker on a five-year deal on transfer deadline day this summer, but he is still yet to make an appearance for his new club.
He was set for his debut in the Scottish League Cup, but a calf problem sustained during the warm-up prevented his introduction.
However, according to manager Ange Postecoglou, the injury to Giakoumakis isn’t as bad as first thought, and as a result, he could be set for some involvement against Aberdeen in the club’s next league game.
Will Giorgos Giakoumakis be a success at Celtic?
Yes
No
Celtic writer John McGinley shared this information with his Twitter followers and they were soon expressing their opinions on the update.
Here’s what these Celtic fans said…
“Please.”
Having been without key goalscorer Kyogo Furuhashi for a number of recent games, it’s clear to see just how much these fans want an alternative attacking option.
Giakoumakis scored 26 goals in the Eredivisie last season. If he can replicate anything close to that at his new club, he’ll have these supporters singing his name in no time at all – though he just needs to get fit first.
