A number of Celtic fans have backed their manager after Ange Postecoglou recently offered some defiant quotes when addressing the media.

After an inconsistent start to his time in charge of the Scottish side, and a patch of particularly poor form – which has seen the club fail to win either of their past two league games – Celtic find themselves languishing in sixth in the Scottish Premier League.

Despite already being six points off the top, Postecoglou hit back at those who apparently, in his eyes, feel as if the title has already been decided at such an early stage.

Speaking to the media, he said: “I don’t know why you’d be declaring someone champion in September.”

The defiant quotes seemed to fire up the faith within from some of his own fans who showed their support online.

Here’s what these Celtic fans said…

“He’s so good.”

“This guy is just in the door in relative terms, he is dealing with a board that is far too slow to react, and a MSM that is praying he fails. It’s a weak squad, so the injuries to key player have a massive impact, anyone who thinks this will be a quick fix is kidding themselves.”

“Love this response. A guy talking sense in a sea of nonsense and panic.”
“This is perfect, no doubt he’s going to be a huge success for us”
“Brilliant from the manager. Unlike his employers, he isn’t scared to tell the truth and stick up for the club”

It’s not been an easy ride for the Australian manager so far, but his team have shown glimpses of reaching their full potential.

Indeed, the month of August was particularly promising with the club winning six games in a row (out of eight in all competitions).

Perhaps this glimmer of quality has been enough to fill these Celtic fans with some belief in their club’s manager. It hasn’t been a perfect start by any means, but as Postecoglou alludes to, there’s a long way to go in this season just yet.
