Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer claim to emerge concerning the north London club.

This comes after Tottenham-focused Twitter account @thespursweb shared a post on its page relaying news originally published in an article from Calcio Mercato.

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

The article claims that Spurs could potentially use Tanguy Ndombele as part of a possible swap deal for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie in the upcoming January transfer window.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Tottenham supporters, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest claim.

So, what did these Spurs fans have to say in response to this claim about a potential January swap deal between Ndombele and Kessie?

“Terrible idea”

@jas_thfc

“Kessie has only 6 months on his deal and Ndombele >>>> so this would be absolutely awful”

@Belgian_Hotspur

This makes no sense. We could sign Kessie on a pre-contract, and then on a free in the summer, whilst Ndombele has time left on his contract. Business-wise, this is awful. #THFC #COYS

@HarryHotspurWHL

“Are you crazy? Kessie and 50 million”

@KhumboMumba1

“Kessie is literally a free agent next summer this would be such a stupid deal”

@301_tim

“Makes no sense”

@thfcaaron_

“Why pay for a player we can get on a free. Proper rubbish”

@Neilo1986

Looking at the replies to this post, it’s clear to see that these fans are not interested in this proposed deal that would potentially see Ndombele leave in January and Kessie make the move to north London.

Would you swap Ndombele for Kessie in January?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Given how Kessie’s current contract with the Serie A club runs out next summer, it would make sense, if the club are interested in signing him, to wait until they can sign him on a free if he doesn’t sign a new deal before then.

However, with Ndombele previously sharing his wishes to leave the club, perhaps swapping him for Kessie in January would be a sufficient way of getting him out of the club whilst getting another midfielder in at the same time. Clearly, fans do not see the point of offloading Ndombele on the cheap for the sake of getting Kessie in immediately.
