Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts insists that the club did not give enough to the cause last season.

The club endured a dismal campaign, as they began the campaign under the management of Jose Mourinho and ended it with the interim management of Ryan Mason.

Spurs ultimately finished seventh, qualifying for the Europa Conference League, and while they did reach the League Cup final, they lost, having sacked Mourinho the week prior.

Spurs endured some horrible results, going down 3-0 to Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia to blow a 2-0 first leg lead in the round of 16 of the Europa League; Tottenham also lost to Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United, Arsenal, and Aston Villa, while throwing away a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with West Ham United.

Roberts felt that there were times last season when the club may as well have stayed at home, so bad were their displays.

Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, Roberts said: “No, we didn’t. Last year was throwing your toys out of the pram and don’t bother turning up.”
