Tottenham Hotspur correspondent, Alasdair Gold, has been speaking on his YouTube channel about all things related to the north London club following their defeat on the weekend.

The Lilywhites lost their first Premier League game of the new campaign at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace in an emphatic 3-0 defeat.

Will Tottenham finish in the top six this season?

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men had got themselves off to the perfect start in the league prior to Saturday with three consecutive 1-0 victories against Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford.

The Portuguese manager was without some of his key players for the trip to Selhurst Park with the international break proving disastrous for Spurs.

Heung-min Son and Steven Bergwijn both missed the game through injury and Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez all out of action due to the current UK travel restrictions.

Discussing the situation at Spurs with players out due to various reasons, Gold had the following to say on Espirito Santo’s attitude on the situation.

(5:00) “I understand that Nuno was pretty [annoyed] this week. He’s been really unhappy with everything that happened at international break not just the mess with the players who are now stuck in Croatia – the South Americans.

“But also the injuries players come back with. Essentially Son has being probably one of his shining lights I think Bergwijn, apart from the end product, has also been I think he’s been a real kind of key tennent to what Spurs have been doing this season.”

TIF Thoughts on Nuno at Spurs…

However, there were huge question marks raised over Tottenham’s display on the weekend which saw the Lilywhites prove ineffective in attack with Vicente Guaita having very little to do during the game (WhoScored).

The frustration from Espirito-Santo will only have been intensified on the weekend after centre-back Eric Dier suffered an injury in the opening 15 minutes of the game which forced him off early on.

The South American players are reportedly set to return back to Spurs the day before their clash against Chelsea on Sunday and could well come straight back into action with Dier’s injury and Japhet Tanganga’s suspension.
