Former Nottingham Forest ace Nigel Jemson insists that he would prefer to see Eddie Howe become the ’s new manager, amid reports Steve Cooper is on the verge of getting the job.

The Championship are on the search for a new boss after Chris Hughton earlier this week following a dismal start to the season.

The are rooted to the bottom of the Championship table with only one point to their name, taken from bitter rivals Derby County, and are now on the hunt for a new boss.

Former Swansea City Steve Cooper seems to be the frontrunner to take over but Jemson believes that Howe would be an excellent appointment.

Howe has been out of work since leaving AFC in 2020, having spent eight years during his time at the Cherries.

He established as a genuine Premier League team, spending five years in the top-flight with the club.

He departed in 2020 and recently appeared set to join Celtic, only for the deal to fall through, and Jemson would like to see him appointed as the new Forest boss.

He said: “One person for me, who’s without a job and I would like to see down there, would be Eddie Howe.”
