A whole host of Newcastle United fans are fuming on Twitter with Luke Edwards’ latest transfer update.

Newcastle have only managed to bring in one signing this summer in the form of Joe Willock, and despite reports earlier in the day from Edwards claiming that Hamza Choudhury was set to join the club, that deal is now no longer happening, according to the same source.

Do you think Newcastle should sign Choudhury?

It has also been reported that Newcastle are all done in this summer’s transfer window when it comes to first-team business, although they are reportedly closing in on the singing of Mexican youngster Santiago Munoz.

A lot of Newcastle fans are angry on Twitter with this latest transfer update.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

We have the worst owner, manager and arguably squad. We received a miracle in not getting relegated last season. This season this club is doomed. #NUFC

Well if he had anything about him or an ounce of self-respect he would walk away, I despise the man but I’d respect him for that. Bruce won’t though, he’ll continue to do an absolutely horrific job with a group of players who are nowhere near as bad as Luke likes you to think.”

Absolute shambles of a football club. #NUFC

@BNJMCG1

“Oh here man this club is a joke”

@nufcrichys

“That is scandalous! So we can expect Bruce to come out and say exactly that. Any manager who speaks honestly and criticises the regime will gain the fans’ respect. I won’t hold my breath.”

@geordienewt

“Shambolic, no wonder the fans are voting with their feet. The stadium was a shell of its former self on Saturday and I expect numbers to drop even more.”

@chrisdown15

With the Choudhury deal now seemingly off and Newcastle closed for business, it will surely be worrying fans considering they look set not to add any new players to the squad from last campaign, as Joe Willock was already with the team, while backup striker Andy Carroll has departed the club.

Newcastle PL appearances quiz! This man is the all-time top Premier League appearance maker for Newcastle, but how many did he make?

At the weekend, the Magpies operated with a midfield three of Longstaff, Miguel Almiron and Joe Willock with Jonjo Shelvey and Isaac Hayden unavailable due to injury, which makes the decision to not bring in another midfielder even more bizarre by Steve Bruce’s side.
