Newcastle United fans have been reacting to comments made by Steve Bruce after the club’s start to the season.

To say that things could be going better for Newcastle United would be an understatement, as not only have they been rather quiet in the transfer market by only bringing in one player, but they have lost all three of their games to start the campaign, which includes their League Cup exit following a shootout defeat to Burnley on Wednesday night.

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?

However, boss Bruce appears to be trying to put a positive spin on things. Speaking in his press conference ahead of their game with Southampton (via @NUFC), Bruce reflected on the fact that this was the last game before the international break and revealed what he has made of things so far this season.

He said: “We’ve got an international break coming up so we’d love to get some points on the board before we go into it. We’ve only played two league games so it’s still very early but we’ve had some positives out of them.”

These comments were relayed to fans by the Newcastle United – Chronicle Facebook page for fans to react to, and it led to an avalanche of angry comments from the Newcastle fans, who clearly didn’t think there were many positives to come from their opening games:

Should Steve Bruce have been sacked by now?

Hopefully they’ll pick up a win on Saturday to really give them something to be positive about, otherwise these comments really could come back to bite Bruce.
