Leeds United presenter Joe Wainman has been sharing his thoughts on Whites winger Ian Poveda and the possibility of him potentially leaving the Yorkshire club this summer.
This comes after Wainman recently uploaded a video onto his YouTube channel, where he spoke about the latest news stories concerning Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
After it was recently reported by Football Insider that Poveda could be on his way out of the club this summer after an apparent falling-out behind the scenes, Wainman had this to say on the matter.
He said: “It’s an interesting one with Poveda, more will be revealed, I guess, but look, he’s played at a host of clubs, moved around a lot, why is that? I don’t know.
“But apparently, Leeds United are willing to listen to offers for the 21-year-old who joined, obviously, from Manchester City back in January 2020.
“It’s clear the kid’s got bags of potential; just has he got the attitude to fulfil it? But then again, this could all be [rubbish], but there is still something – you’ve got to think, what’s going on there?
“Something has gone on, because he’s just dropped off the face of the earth. It’ll be interesting to see if he does get a loan, where he goes out on loan. I’d imagine it’d be a Championship club that would be willing to take him.”
TIF Thoughts on Joe Wainman’s comments on Poveda…
Given how Poveda wasn’t picked to start a match for Leeds last season in the Premier League and only made 14 appearances off the bench, it’s understandable why a move away from the club this summer could well be beneficial for the winger if he would be guaranteed regular playing time elsewhere.
What do you think Leeds should do with Poveda
Keep him in the squad
Loan him out
Sell him
Also, if the player did have a falling-out with someone at the club as reported, or if he does have an attitude problem, as Wainman pondered, then perhaps it would be better for all parties if he moved on.
However, if there is an attitude problem with Poveda, this and the lack of playing time he’s had for Leeds could make it unlikely that any other club would be willing to come forward and sign him this summer.
