Leeds United fans have been left impressed by footage of a goal by Crysencio Summerville during the U23 side’s game against Crystal Palace last night.

Having stormed to the league title and promotion last season, it was time for the young Leeds United players to get their new league season underway as they travelled to Selhurst Park to play their Eagles counterparts.

Can you remember where Leeds finished in these league seasons? First up: 2018/19

And they played as if they never went away, as they came away with all three points after a 3-1 victory, with the aforementioned Summerville, Liam McCarron and Sean McGurk getting the goals to start the season off on the right foot.

Summerville’s goal was arguably the pick of the bunch for Mark Jackson’s side, with Jack Jenkins spraying a pass out to Summerville on the right flank, who controlled the ball and raced away from his defender before slotting home.

The footage was shared online for fans to react to, and it’s fair to say that it left a lot of them impressed, with many demanding that he make the step up to Marcelo Bielsa’s senior side:

“Mind-blowing how he’s not ahead of Costa”

“Start him Saturday”
“We have a serious talent on our hands here”
“I’m all for nurturing the young and taking our time with them but there is no way shape or form he isn’t worth a punt as a sub at this point. Surely.”
“Mesmerising pass and finish”
“Filthy pass that”

Do you think Summerville should be in the first team squad this season?

The Dutchman has certainly been grabbing attention in previous weeks amongst the Leeds fans, and if he keeps on like this, you imagine it will only be a matter of time before he makes his way into the first team.
