Leeds United fans have been reacting to the Carabao Cup draw as the Whites were paired with League One side Crewe Alexandra in the second round.

Whilst Marcelo Bielsa has done incredibly well in many aspects during his time at Leeds United, it’s fair to say that the cup competitions have been something of a blind spot for the Argentinian, as he has failed to win a single tie during his first three seasons at Elland Road.

However, he has been presented with a perfect opportunity to put that right when it comes to this season’s League Cup, as his side have been drawn against Crewe, with the game to be played at Elland Road.

Will Leeds finish in a European spot next season?

However, despite the gap between the two teams when it comes to the football pyramid, there didn’t seem to be too many supporters that were confident that Bielsa would break that duck when the two teams meet later in the month:

“Steady draw that… lump on Crewe”

“Good luck in Round 3, Crewe!”
“That’s us out then….shock, horror, giant killer headlines, part-time butcher scores in injury time etc!!…”
“Can’t wait to lose 3-0”
God help us”
“Announce 5-4 Crewe on pens”

Can you remember where Leeds finished in these league seasons? First up: 2018/19

After the last cup game they played, their 3-0 defeat against Crawley Town, you can somewhat understand the fans’ hesitancy when it comes to playing teams lower down the leagues.
