Leeds United fans have responded online to the news that Helder Costa has been made available for loan on transfer deadline day.

Sports journalist Pete O’Rourke revealed on Twitter that the winger would be allowed to leave with the club in talks to sign Daniel James from Manchester United.

James is close to joining Marcelo Bielsa’s team for a fee in the region of £25m, and so Costa may have found it hard to see much game time this season.

Soon after the news broke on Twitter, a number of Leeds supporters flocked to the website to share their thoughts on the matter.

What did these Leeds fans say?

“Music to the old ears.”

“Should never have bought Costa was a bad piece of business and it was clear to see before Leeds Bought him.”

“Some good news to start Tuesday off.”

“This makes sense. With James in he isn’t going to play.”

“PLEASE.”
“Best news ever in my opinion !!! Done well in the Championship for us but don’t think he cuts the mustard in the Prem.”

In recent times, it seems as though Costa hasn’t done a great deal to impress a larger selection of the Leeds fanbase.

Indeed, the 27-year-old managed just three goals in 22 Premier League appearances last campaign, which has evidently not been enough to force his way into his manager’s plans for this season, with his appearance in the Carabao Cup last week his only start of the current term to date.
