A number of Leeds United fans have celebrated online as Phil Hay revealed that Dan James is preparing to undergo a medical with the club.
The Athletic recently revealed that James was close to leaving Manchester United in a £25m deal that would see him sign for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
In a new update on the possible transfer, Hay explained that everything was in order ahead of the medical and that Leeds were happy with the price they were set to pay for the player.
He shared the news on his Twitter feed and it soon drew a reaction from a number of Leeds fans.

It’s clear to see just how delighted these Leeds fans are with the latest update. The news will probably come as a bit of a surprise to them as Man United didn’t look likely to sell James this summer.
Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had previously stated an intent to keep James at the club. However, as The Athletic explains, the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo will mean less playing time for the Welshman and so the door to a transfer suddenly opened up.
