Matt Woosnam of the Athletic believes Crystal Palace fans are grateful for what Scott Dann did for the football club.

Dann left Selhurst Park after seven years, when his contract expired on July 1. The defender made 181 appearances for Crystal Palace, scoring 16 goals and creating a further eight for his teammates.

Woosnam was full of praise for Dann, telling This is Futbol: “I think a lot of Palace fans are grateful for what he did for the club and how much of a good signing he was. I think it was four million pounds in the end from Blackburn. It’s kind of crazy to think how long he’s been at the club and also scored quite a few goals as well.”

It doesn’t appear that Dann will be without a club for long, as Football Insider are reporting that AFC Bournemouth are in pole position to land the centre-back ahead of their Championship campaign under new manager Scott Parker.

Crystal Palace are also under new management, as former New York City and Nice manager Patrick Vieira will be in the dugout at Selhurst Park this upcoming season.

After 22 players were released this summer from Palace, Vieira is looking to build his own squad and has landed the signatures of both Marc Guehi and Michael Olise, who have arrived from Chelsea and Reading respectively.
