A whole host of West Brom fans are delighted on Twitter following Joseph Masi’s latest update on the club’s hunt for a new striker.

Masi has revealed that the Baggies have Daryl Dike on their shortlist of strikers, having been signed on loan by Valerien Ismael at Barnsley for the second half of last season.

Will West Brom be promoted next season?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Dike impressed last season given it was his first time playing outside of America as he scored nine goals in 21 league games, and with him playing under Ismael last season, he would arrive presumably understanding the system and his role.

A lot of West Brom fans have reacted positively on Twitter to the latest Dike link.

What have these West Brom fans had to say on the news?

“Yes please!!!!”

“Has to Dike surely, looked a great player for Barnsley. Will already be able to fit into Val’s set up too”

“Finally, a reputable journalist has actually said something. Fans knew we was light, Val said he was happy, so the rumours and speculations went into overdrive.”

Dike. 1 in 2 for Barnsley. Knows the system. Very little time for him to get up to speed. No-brainer. #wba

Barnsley had the option to sign Dike permanently this summer, however, the club’s then-chief executive, Dane Murphy, insisted that it was the ‘entire financial package‘ that forced them to reject their option to buy the striker.

An easy one to kick off our quiz on the 2020 summer transfer window in the EFL, which player left Birmingham City to join Borussia Dortmund?

Ismael would likely love to bring in Dike as he will know the player, how he works and what he can get out of him and allow the striker to hit the ground running in the Baggies’ campaign.
