A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have reacted online after their club announced the signing of Jordan Hugill.

Albion’s official website declared the club had brought in Hugill from Norwich City on a season-long loan. It added that the 29-year-old has played more than 100 times in the Championship over the last three years and featured 31 times for the Canaries last season as they gained promotion.

The news was swiftly shared on Twitter too, and it didn’t take long to get a response from a number of West Brom supporters.

Here’s what these West Brom fans said…

“He’s a workhorse just what we need and the goals will come.”

“Promotion confirmed.”
“Superb, will give everything for the team just what we need.”
“SIUUUU”
“That escalated quickly”
“What a signing, up the Baggies.”
“Crikey, this moved quickly having only just been reported of “in talks” this morning Smiling face with open mouth and cold sweat Welcome Jordan! #WBA.”

Judging from their reactions, a number of Baggies fans are fairly delighted with this move. The striker comes with a touch of Premier League pedigree, albeit with only three appearances in the division and no goals in the 2017/18 season when he was with West Ham United.

West Brom manager Valerien Ismael explained that the club have brought in Hugill for his work rate, experience and ability to score goals.

He said: “I think with his experience, his mentality and his work ethic, he will suit us perfectly.”

While adding: “His skill and his experience will help him to score a lot of goals for us. He is able to score from open play and set pieces. I think we saw already in our first few games that we have had a lot of crosses into the box and it is important we have a striker in the area who is able to win those headers.”
