Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer news to emerge concerning the north London club.
This comes after Tottenham news Twitter account @TheSpursExpress shared a post on their page relaying news originally published in an article from Italian media outlet Tuttosport.
The article claims that the Lilywhites are interested in signing Juventus defender Merih Demiral this summer, but that the Serie A side would only consider an offer of €35 million (£29.8 million) or more for the defender.
This post then caught the attention of a lot of Tottenham supporters who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest claim.
So, what did these Spurs fans have to say in response to this latest claim about Demiral?
“This is who I’d want over anyone tbh, great talent”
“Worth it. Better than Kounde.”
“That’s peanuts”
“Demiral and Lacroix/Romero and we cooking”
“Sign him & the Wolfsburg CB Lacroix and everyone will be happy.”
“Lacroix, Romero, Demiral get two of them”
Looking at the replies to this post, it seems as though these Spurs fans would be happy to see their club potentially make a move to sign Demiral this summer, despite the reported transfer price tag mentioned in the Italian article.
Would you take Merih Demiral at Spurs this summer?
Yes
No
In our view, despite being Turkey’s fourth-highest-rated player at Euro 2020, the fact that Demiral only managed to earn himself a rather uninspiring overall performance rating of 6.51/10 during the tournament (according to WhoScored) suggests to us that he may not be worth the reported fee that has been suggested Juventus would want for him, even though his rating was just based on 225 minutes of action and what was a poor tournament for his nation.
However, with the club recently hiring former Juventus director Fabio Paratici, perhaps he would be able to work out a deal with his former club that would see Demiral move to north London in a deal that would suit all parties.
