The Chronicle tweeted some information that Lee Ryder had written in a recent article. The update stated that the Magpies are yet to make a breakthrough in the transfer market this summer, but manager Steve Bruce is well aware that patience is needed.
Do you expect NUFC to sign someone before the friendly?
Ryder had stated that the Magpies haven’t held any talks to sign Will Hughes from Watford and they are also keen to hold on to Isaac Hayden, following claims a swap deal was potentially on the cards.
The Chronicle’s tweet about Newcastle’s transfer business drew the attention of many of the club’s fans and they made their views clear about it.
What did NUFC fans make of this news?
“Club is dead in the water without a takeover.“
“”Couldn’t get it over the line”, will be the usual statement at the last minute.”
“Let’s be honest, they haven’t even tried.“
Newcastle play are in pre-season action on 18th July, when they’ll play two games in one day against Harrogate Town and York City. That is a little over a week away and if Newcastle want to make sure that the new signings settle in well before the new season starts, they’d want to make sure that they feature in the friendlies.
So even though Bruce knows that patience might be key, getting the new signings early could make their preparations better.
