Ryder had stated that the Magpies haven’t held any talks to sign Will Hughes from Watford and they are also keen to hold on to Isaac Hayden, following claims a swap deal was potentially on the cards.

Newcastle play are in pre-season action on 18th July, when they’ll play two games in one day against Harrogate Town and York City. That is a little over a week away and if Newcastle want to make sure that the new signings settle in well before the new season starts, they’d want to make sure that they feature in the friendlies.
