Celtic fans have been reacting to claims surrounding a potential bid for goalkeeper Mat Ryan.

New Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has only officially been in charge of the side less than a week, but it looks as if he is already putting plans in place to bring in some players, including one player that he will know all too well.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

A recent report from Football Insider has claimed that Celtic have registered their interest in Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Ryan as they look to steal him from under the noses of Arsenal. The Gunners, though, have reportedly discussed a price of between £3-5million for him after he spent the second half of last season on loan at the Emirates Stadium.

The 29-year-old featured heavily under the new boss during his time in charge of the Socceroos, so it would be understandable to think that the manager would want to bring in someone that he is clearly very comfortable in working with.

The news was relayed to fans via the Celtic Insider Facebook page, where there were plenty of fans excited at the prospect of him coming to the club:

With a club like Arsenal reportedly interested, it might take a lot to convince him to make the move, but hopefully for these fans, Ryan and Postecolgou’s previous relationship might be enough to get the deal done.
