Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has been speaking on his latest YouTube video about all things related to the north London club.

The main topic of discussion was Daniel Levy’s ongoing search to find a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho.

Would you be happy with Nuno as Spurs manager?

No

One name which has emerged as a potential candidate for the vacant role in N17 is the former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Portuguese manager left Wolves at the end of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign and has been linked with potential moves to both Crystal Palace and Everton, too.

Discussing the 47-year-old as a potential candidate for the Spurs job, Gold had the following to say on the matter.

“I’m told from not only people in Italy, but also people over here, that [Fabio] Paratici – one other manager he does like that hasn’t been in Serie A is Nuno Espirito Santo, obviously the former Wolves manager.

“I’ve been told by kind of various people not to rule him out, is the best way of putting it. And like I said, I’ve been told by a lot of people that he is someone that Paratici likes.”

TIF Thoughts on Nuno Espirito Santo to Spurs…

At the end of the 2020/21 Premier League season, Levy sent a message to the Spurs fans stating he will be looking to hire a manager which will bring “free-flowing, attacking and entertaining” football to Spurs.

However, we are not convinced Espirito Santo will excite the fans if he was to be appointed.

The Portuguese manager was reportedly very close to joining Crystal Palace just last month, will Tottenham fans be satisfied with a manager who was on the verge of joining a side that finished 14th in the 2020/21 season?

It could be argued his appointment would therefore be a huge call from Levy, having previously sought the likes of Antonio Conte and Erik ten Hag.
