Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has been sharing his thoughts on the possibility of Lilywhites right-back Serge Aurier potentially leaving the north London club this summer.

This comes after Gold made an appearance on a recent live video from Football.london where he spoke about a variety of topics concerning Tottenham.

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

On the subject of Aurier, who has been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer – with Paris Saint-Germain thought to be willing to pay over £20m in fees and wages – Gold had this to say on the matter.

He said: “We know Serge Aurier wants to leave the club, so that could be more money coming in as well.

“I don’t think you’re looking at anything like the £20 million that I saw one report suggest.”

Spurs signed Aurier back in August 2017 from PSG for a fee of around £23m.

Since then, the 28-year-old, who is currently valued at £18 million, has gone on to make 110 appearances for the club across all competitions in which he has managed to score eight goals and provide 17 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Alasdair Gold’s comments on a potential exit for Aurier…

Given how Aurier managed to pick up two goals and three assists for Spurs in the Premier League this past season and ultimately earn himself an impressive overall rating of 7.06/10, making him their fourth-highest-rated player according to WhoScored, perhaps it would be better for the club to try and keep hold of him this summer.

Do you think Spurs should sell Aurier this summer?

No

However, if Gold’s claim that Aurier wants to leave the club is accurate, then it may be the best option to let him go and try and pick up as much money as they can for him to then try and find a potential replacement, even if it may not be around the reported £20 million mark.

On the other hand, with the club still without a permanent manager, perhaps any potential exit for Aurier should be on hold until they appoint someone who can then make a decision on whether they want the defender in the squad or not.
