Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news concerning Everton forward Josh King.

Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

The article claims that Newcastle are set to be offered another chance to sign King this summer, after previously being linked with him, with the player apparently now heading for the exit door at Goodison Park.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Toon supporters who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest update.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say in response to this latest transfer update about King?

“Ashley type of signing he will be signed up”

@daveyontheg

“King and Wilson upfront could be deadly”

@mattdunlop80

“Would take him he’s fast up top…didn’t get a fair chance at Everton”

@juliewong9

“100% take him I rate him and he’s been wasted this last 12 plus months”

@DiscoDaveToon

“Perfect 4 Wilson”

@My5cherriepies

“Right up Ashley’s street a free transfer”

@RowanNeil

“No brainer, get him signed!!!”

@Fishydog

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems that the majority of these Toon fans would be thrilled to see King move to St. James’ Park this season.

Would you like to see Newcastle make a move for Josh King?

Despite not managing to score any goals for Everton during his time with the Merseyside club, the fact that King still has 48 Premier League goals to his name, could make him a potentially smart target for the Tyneside club.

Also, with current Toon striker Callum Wilson suffering his fair share of injury issues, perhaps King could provide a suitable backup for the Englishman next season should he pick up any more injuries next season.
