A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from NUFC 360, which has relayed a report from The Chronicle regarding the Toon’s proposed takeover.

Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

It claims that if Mike Ashley’s legal challenge against the Premier League is successful, the consortium would “move heaven and earth” to get the deal done, according to Mark Douglas.

This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who have had their say.

Listen it’s all about giving us fans a good feel factor! It’s ridiculous. Treating us like idiots. If the consortium personally give a press release. It’s time to open our eyes. But until then don’t listen to the spin of lies.”

I’m not feeling very confident it’s happening.”

Do you think that the takeover is still possible?

No, it is finished

No, it is finished

Confidence about the deal has grown over the weekend, and Ashley has two legal challenges against the Premier League ready to go to ensure that the takeover does go through.

If he is successful, then it sounds like the PIF-backed consortium would spring into life and potentially complete a takeover of the club very quickly.

The first of Ashley’s legal cases is set to start soon, so Newcastle could start the season under new ownership if that goes well.

This post continued to draw in Toon fans who had their say.

Crack em open baby”

Yet Amanda Staveley remains silent due to respecting NDA. Her partner @ghodoussi is following a number of persons on Twitter and could have at any time let the fans know it was off… Two legal challenges we know about. Not difficult to join the dots
Just moving the PL will do”

It is clear that some Toon fans are unconvinced by the takeover, and considering it was withdrawn nearly a year ago, we understand these reservations, and we will just have to see what happens.
