Brian Deane believes that signing for Leicester would be a great opportunity for James Tarkowski to progress his career.

The Burnley defender has been extremely consistent in recent seasons, missing just five Premier League games in the last three years, with his form putting him on the fringes of Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Would you be happy to see Leicester sign Ryan Bertrand this summer?

Tarkowski wasn’t included in the Three Lions squad for the Euros, but having helped Burnley stay in the top-flight, he could be rewarded with a move to a European side in Leicester.

He almost joined the Lancashire outfit in a £40m move last summer, but the deal fell through, with Brendan Rodgers eventually bringing in Wesley Fofana from Saint-Etienne instead.

To kick off this quiz on Leicester City's 2019/20 season, who is the only outfield player to have appeared in all 38 of the Foxes' Premier League games in the 2019/20 campaign?

But reports believe that the Foxes could revisit their interest in the 28-year-old, who played every minute in Burnley’s previous 36 Premier League matches having missed the opening two with a toe injury.

And Deane told This is Futbol that it would suit both parties:

“He’s been a steady player. He plays a certain type of football at Burnley, and perhaps we haven’t seen the best of him because they play a rigid 4-4-2.

“So that might be a great opportunity for him to develop in a very good Leicester squad and I can see that. But Burnley are going to want good money for him, and they [Leicester] have got Soyuncu, Fofana.

“It’s going to be interesting, but he’s a good player with proven Premier League pedigree.”
