There was more bad news for Sheffield Wednesday fans yesterday when Sheffield Wednesday journalist for The Star, Joe Crann, reported that things are due to go from “bad to worse” at the struggling club.

Crann reports that a number of’ Wednesday players are ‘considering handing in their notice’ as issues with wages at the club continue.

The past season was a difficult one for the Owls on and off the pitch, with the campaign beginning with a points deduction and ending with relegation to League One, while reports in the last month have suggested that players have not been paid their wages for March and April.

Whilst Owls manager Darren Moore prepares for next season, rumours of financial turmoil continue and the situation seems to be worsening for the League One outfit.

There’s not been much to celebrate for Sheffield Wednesday fans this season and the fans have been discussing the report on Twitter, with many understandably worried about the situation at their football club…

As per FIFA’s regulations, if the reports are correct and players haven’t been paid for two months, players can contact the club in writing and then Sheffield Wednesday bosses will have two weeks to pay the player their full salary, or the player has the option to terminate their contract.

Fans will be hoping that this situation can be sorted promptly before any players exercise that right but it certainly appears like worrying and uncertain times for the Owls right now.
