Tierney left Celtic in the summer of 2019 to join Arsenal for a fee of £25 million. At that point, the Scotsman created the record of being the most expensive player to have left Scottish football, going past Moussa Dembele’s fee from Lyon (as per Transfermarkt).

Ferguson made Tierney’s current valuation clear and he wasn’t having any argument against it either.

He stated (15:04): “I’m talking what? £60-£70 million for Kieran Tierney, I don’t care what anybody says, if somebody wants to phone in and argue about it. For me, I’m like everybody. I’ve watched him at Arsenal. He’s Arsenal’s top player, he’s not just Scotland’s top player. He’s so important to Mikel Arteta.”

TIF Thoughts on Tierney…

Tierney, currently 23, has made 60 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal and he has contributed to 11 goals as well. While he has faced injury issues, he has always come back to play regularly for Mikel Arteta’s men.

He’s come up with the joint second highest number of key passes per game for the side, also completing 0.6 dribbles per game (per Whoscored).

Premier League legend Ashley Cole has hailed Tierney on Sky Sports (via Metro), describing him as a ‘warrior’ and praising his leadership abilities. All of this is very positive and because of that, Celtic fans should be proud of Tierney.
