Barry Fry believes that the West Ham fans would never forgive David Gold and Sullivan should they cash-in on Declan Rice this summer.

The Hammers captain, who’s been wearing the armband in the absence of Mark Noble, has been in tremendous form for the east Londoners this season.

Should signing Jesse Lingard permanently be West Ham's transfer priority this summer?

Rice played every minute in all but six of West Ham’s Premier League games, missing those six only because of a knee problem sustained on international duty.

But whilst Rice’s form has helped West Ham qualify for the Europa League, it’s also grabbed the attention of Manchester United, who’re keen on bringing the England midfielder to Old Trafford.

Hammers boss David Moyes was recently quizzed about his former side’s interest and said that it would ‘take the Bank of England and the Royal Bank of Scotland’ to lure him away from the London Stadium.

Nice easy one to start off with. How much do you think Declan Rice is worth?

But with the Red Devils desperate to close the gap on Manchester at the top of the Premier League, they’re expected to test the West Ham owners this summer.

And Fry exclusively told This is Futbol that selling the talented 22-year-old would be unforgivable:

“I don’t think West Ham fans would ever forgive them if they sold their best player.

“Declan has been magnificent for them and will continue to be magnificent.”
