Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to a picture posted by Dane Scarlett on social media.
The 17-year-old has had something of a mini-breakout season this campaign, scoring goals for fun with the academy side and playing for the senior team in both the Premier League and Europa League under Jose Mourinho.
Indeed, the former boss clearly had high hopes for him saying “he will be somebody in a few years” (BBC 5 Live, via The Evening Standard). However, his season suffered a setback when it was revealed he had picked up an injury last month while with the academy and was subsequently out of action.
Now though it would appear as if he is back on the road to recovery as he posted a message on his Twitter page that simply said “back” as he played during the U-18 team’s 5-2 win over their Norwich City counterparts yesterday.
And there were plenty of Spurs fans that flocked to his tweet to show just how excited they were to see him back in action:
“Baller”
Do you think Scarlett should be a regular squad member for Spurs next season?
Yes
No
It’s funny how something so simple can spark such joy amongst a fanbase.
