TalkSport transfer insider Alex Crook has made an extraordinary claim when it comes to Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham Hotspur.

Kane’s future in North London has been a subject that has garnered plenty of debate this season, made all the intriguing when a report from The Athletic claimed that he would seek to leave the club this summer if they were to finish outside of the top four, something that isn’t looking likely at this stage.

Kane himself threw the situation into more doubt by stating whilst on England duty that he would decide about his future after this summer’s European Championship. However, speaking on the TalkSport Gameday podcast (45:49), Crook made it sound as if his future had already been decided, and that his future lays away from his boyhood club:

“Well, I was told by somebody high ranking at one of the Premier League clubs that Harry Kane absolutely will leave Tottenham this summer. It’s not even in debate.”

TIF Thoughts on Alex Crook’s comments about Harry Kane’s future

Crook, or at least Crook’s source seems to be pretty convinced that he is off, but what’s interesting to note is that whilst Kane may want to leave and put in a transfer request, you need two to tango in this situation, and someone needs to be willing to pay what Tottenham would ask for in that situation.

It’s something that former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan, who will know something about buying and selling players, has raised recently, and based on what Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has valued Kane at in the past, and what the football world has lost in the past year, it might not be so cut and dry when all is said and done.
