Former Premier League striker Brian Deane has told This Is Futbol in an exclusive interview that Hansi Flick would be a good appointment for Tottenham if they can bring the German to north London.

Flick is leaving Bayern Munich in the summer and is expected to succeed Low as Germany manager after the Euros.

According to The Telegraph, however, Flick is also interested in the Tottenham job, which may come as a welcome development to Daniel Levy.

In a short space of time, the Spurs chairman has seen the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Erik ten Hag effectively rule themselves out of the running to replace Mourinho.

For Deane, if Tottenham can get Flick, who has an 82% win rate at Bayern, into their dugout, then they would have acquired a brilliant manager.

Speaking exclusively to TIF about Flick’s reported interest in the Spurs gig, the ex- United forward said:

I think it’d be a very good appointment. Obviously, he’s won the European Cup and he was a relative unknown, and he’s handled big-time players at Bayern. It doesn’t come much bigger than Bayern Munich, so he would be an ideal appointment.”

Given what he has been able to accomplish at the Allianz Arena, perhaps Flick could be the man to finally deliver Tottenham some silverware after so many years.
