A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from The Chronicle, which includes a link to their live blog.

Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

From here, there is a claim from John Richardson in the Sunday Mirror (via The Chronicle live blog 20:58) on Sean Dyche becoming the next potential Newcastle manager.

Richardson claims that Dyche is in talks to extend his stay at Turf Moor, but if Steve Bruce were to walk away from Newcastle this summer, then Mike Ashley “wouldn’t be slow to register an interest” in Dyche.

This update has drawn the attention of these Toon fans who have had their say.

Oh god no. I genuinely believe Ashley gets a kick out of winding us up..It is clear he has Zero football knowledge, but then that is tragically obvious for his so called management team, who if they really wanted, would look to someone who could bring style/guile to our football.”

St Max and Almiron playing under another dinosaur no thanks”

@kevcairns

“He’s got a decent budget at Burnley this summer so why wud he wanna come here n continue 2 scrap barrel”

@myoung23

Would you take Dyche at Newcastle?

Yes, he could do a job

Yes, he could do a job

No, he is like Bruce

No, he is like Bruce

Dyche has had great success at Burnley by keeping his side in the Premier League for five years now with very little spent in his time as Clarets’ boss.

So, you can see why this would appeal to Ashley. This post about Dyche continued to draw in Newcastle fans who had their say.

Rather Bruce”

@JHow989

You’re having a laugh.”

@metcas34

Yeah I know this is our level now, but you’ll forgive me for being underwhelmed at this”

@Alonosi

You would think that if Newcastle want to push onto the next level, Dyche is probably not the man to do it, and these Toon fans clearly think that as well.
