Former Manchester City defender Michael Ball has told This Is Futbol in an exclusive interview that Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish could be another Raheem Sterling for his old club.

Sterling has been a revelation under Guardiola, scoring over 100 goals for the Spaniard since his arrival at the Etihad back in 2016.

If reports are to be believed, the 26-year-old could soon be joined by his England team-mate in Manchester, with The Telegraph claiming that Grealish, 25, is a top target for the Premier League champions heading into the summer transfer window.

For Ball, it would be a move that could take Grealish up to the next level. Speaking exclusively to TIF about City’s reported interest in the Villa captain, he said:

“If you look at Sterling, he probably thought he was the finished article, but then Pep demanded more. [Sergio] Aguero, we probably thought was the finished article, but then Pep demanded more.

“Jack, if that happens, Pep will improve him as a player, not just about himself. Use the ball slightly better or standing in the right areas, those small little tweaks that Pep does to these world-class players who we think are finished articles. Pep does seem to get these players to another level.”

It could end up being some transfer window for Guardiola and Manchester City, with the Citizens also being linked with Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

According to Sky Sports, the club have already spoken to the player’s representatives.
