In an exclusive interview with This is Futbol, former Manchester City and Newcastle United defender Steve Howey admits he could see Odsonne Edouard moving to Leicester City this summer, having previously worked under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.
Edouard has been a mainstay in the Celtic side over the last few years but he has been linked with a move to the King Power Stadium following the Bhoys’ poor season both domestically and in Europe.
Would Edouard be a good signing for Leicester?
Yes!
No!
Speaking on if Edouard could make the move to Leicester and how Rodgers will already know what he’s like both on and off the pitch, Howey told This is Futbol:
“Brendan knows what he’s like, not only as a player but as a character, and I think that’s the thing managers in the Premier League want to know about players that they’re bringing in from outside the league. First of all, can you play, but second of all, what’s his attitude like?
“Players have got to have the full package if you’re bringing them in from outside of the Premier League.”
Celtic are still yet to appoint Neil Lennon’s successor which could be playing on the minds of players who are unsure where their futures will be at the start of next season.
Meanwhile, Rodgers will want to add more strength in depth to his squad, especially if they want to be competitive in the league again as well as the Champions League should they secure a top-four finish.
